Privacy Notice

1. Who we are

Lifetribe Global Limited, a company registered in Ireland, operates faffno ("the Service"). We are the data controller for the personal data processed in connection with your use of the Service. For privacy questions, contact us at hello@faffno.com.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, email address, login credentials, profile picture.
  • Service content: events, notes, entities and any other content you add.
  • Calendar data: if you connect Google Calendar, the events we sync per your authorisation.
  • Support communications: messages you send us.
  • Usage data: device, browser, IP address, pages visited, feature interactions.
  • Subscription metadata: tier, status, renewal dates (payment card details are handled by Paddle, not us).

3. Why we use your data

  • To create and maintain your account (contract performance);
  • To provide and personalise the Service (contract performance);
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions, via Paddle (contract / legal obligation);
  • To prevent fraud and keep the Service secure (legitimate interests);
  • To improve the product and fix bugs (legitimate interests);
  • To respond to support requests (contract performance);
  • To send essential service emails (contract performance) and, where you've opted in, marketing emails (consent).

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your data under the GDPR on the bases of contract performance, legitimate interests, consent, or compliance with legal obligations, as outlined above.

5. Who we share data with

  • Service providers (sub-processors): hosting, database, authentication, analytics, customer support tooling, and AI providers used to power features of the Service.
  • Paddle (Merchant of Record): for processing your purchase, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
  • Google: if you choose to connect your Google Calendar, to read events under the scopes you authorise.
  • Professional advisers: legal, accounting, and compliance advisers where necessary.
  • Authorities: where required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions issued by the European Commission.

7. How long we keep data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, unless we need to retain certain records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Have inaccurate data corrected;
  • Have your data erased ("right to be forgotten");
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Data portability — receive your data in a portable format;
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on it;
  • Lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) or your local supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@faffno.com. We respond within one month.

9. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and managed cloud infrastructure — to protect your personal data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and respond promptly to any incidents.

10. Cookies

faffno uses essential cookies and local storage to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. We may also use limited analytics to understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break parts of the Service.

11. Children

faffno is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Google API Services User Data

When you choose to connect your Google Calendar to faffno, we access data from Google APIs. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Scopes we request

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly — read-only access to your Google Calendar events. We use this solely to detect scheduling clashes against events you create in faffno. We never write, modify, or delete events in your Google Calendar.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email and openid — to identify which Google account is connected so you can manage and disconnect it.

What we do with Google user data

  • Sync a rolling window of upcoming events (titles, times, locations) into your faffno account so the app can flag clashes and provide reminders.
  • Store a copy of the synced event metadata in our database, scoped to your user, protected by row-level security, and encrypted in transit.
  • Store the OAuth refresh token securely so we can keep your calendar in sync until you disconnect.

What we do not do (Limited Use)

  • We do not sell Google user data.
  • We do not use Google user data for advertising of any kind.
  • We do not use Google user data to train, fine-tune, or improve generalised or generative AI/ML models.
  • We do not allow humans to read your Google user data, except: (a) with your explicit consent, (b) for security purposes (e.g. investigating abuse), (c) to comply with applicable law, or (d) where the data has been aggregated and anonymised for internal operations.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the Service, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice to users.

Retention and deletion

Synced calendar events and stored Google OAuth tokens are retained only while your Google account is connected. You can disconnect at any time from the faffno dashboard, which deletes the stored OAuth tokens immediately. You can also revoke faffno's access directly from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting your faffno account removes all synced calendar data within a reasonable period.

13. Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
